Our Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigators
Dr. Felix Sigal
Principal Investigator
Dr. Felix Sigal is an experienced clinical investigator, having conducted over 30 clinical research studies over the past decades. Dr. Sigal considers clinical research trials an essential part of the armamentarium to combat disease and raise the standard care for his expansive population of patients.
He graduated from California State University, Northridge and California School of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed his Podiatric Residency training at LAC + USC Medical Center – General Hospital.
After completing his surgical training, Dr. Sigal went into private practice in Los Angeles. His practice is focused on wound care, diabetic limb salvage and clinical research. Dr. Sigal is currently on staff at California Hospital Medical Center and Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. He currently resides in the San Fernando Valley with his wife and two children. During his free time, he enjoys fishing, boating, travelling and spending time with family.

Dr. Parham Parto
Cardiologist, Sub-Investigator
Dr. Parham Parto is a board-certified Cardiologist with a special interest in Interventional Cardiology and Peripheral Vascular Intervention. Having completed his internship and residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch, he excelled to the top of his class and was selected among his peers as Chief Resident.
Dr. Ali Golshan
Vascular and Interventional Radiologist, Sub-Investigator
Dr. Ali Golshan is a board-certified Vascular and Interventional Radiologist and a leading, multi-awarded expert in nonsurgical treatment of varicose veins and peripheral arterial disease.
Dr. Golshan earned his medical degree at UCLA where he enrolled in the dual MD/MBA program. He went on to complete his residency in Radiology at UCLA. He also completed a rigorous fellowship in Interventional Radiology at John Hopkins University in Baltimore.
His expertise allows him to provide the best patient-centered care and medical intervention from performing Varithena (microfoam treatment), sclerotherapy, angioplasty, stenting, atherectomy, and several more minimally invasive, in-office procedures.
Dr. Mark Barats
Nephrologist, Sub-Investigator
Dr. Mark Barats is a board-certified Nephrologist and is a passionate advocate for patients with a rich experience in the field for over 20 years. Dr. Barats possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience in treating a wide range of kidney-related conditions, including chronic kidney disease, kidney stones, glomerulonephritis, hypertension, electrolyte imbalances, and renal transplantation.
Dr. Morris Silver
Gastroenterologist, Sub-Investigator
Dr. Morris Silver is a board-certified Gastroenterologist who has been practicing in his field of expertise for over 30 years. His therapeutic areas cover diarrhea, gastroparesis, constipation, abdominal pain, and rectal bleeding, as well as Inflammatory Bowel Disease and GERD.
Dr. Michael Andrew Roberts
Ophthalmologist, Sub-Investigator
Dr. Michael Andrew Roberts is a board- certified Ophthalmologist with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of cataracts and glaucoma. He specializes in performing advanced cataract surgery techniques and providing individualized medical and surgical glaucoma treatments.
After earning his medical degree from USC/Keck School of Medicine in 2000 as a Dean’s Scholar, he went on to complete his internship at Bassett Healthcare in New York followed by an Ophthalmology residency at the prestigious UCLA/Jules Stein Eye Institute. While there, he was awarded with UCLA’s Department of Ophthalmology Research Award and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Research Scholarship Award.
Dr. Roberts has previous clinical research experience as a Sub-Investigator with the National Research Institute, retinal specialists for studies in Ophthalmology, and Dr. Sigal for studies on diabetes.
Dr. Salis Shrestha
Podiatric Medicine, Sub-Investigator
Dr. Salis Shrestha graduated Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Michigan State University and Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Barry University in Miami, Florida. He completed his internal medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, from 2003 to 2005, and at the University of Pennsylvania from 2000 to 2003.
Dr. Shrestha is currently in private practice in Los Angeles, California, and has existing affiliations at California Hospital Medical Center, Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Shrestha is a board-certified Foot and Ankle Surgeon by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS).
Dr. Shrestha is highly trained in reconstructive pediatric and adult foot and ankle injury/trauma, complex diabetic wounds, and diabetic limb salvage.
